”RAD RACE” Lands in Japan: A 500km Volcanic Odyssey Through Kyushu
The German “outliers” of the cycling world are bringing their unique energy to Japan for the first time. RAD RACE, a creative collective from Hamburg, is redefining cycling not just as a sport, but as a lifestyle and a grand adventure.

In November 2026, the 9th edition of their world-renowned multi-day ride, “Tour De Friends (TDF),” will finally make its Japanese debut. This isn’t just a bike tour; it’s a journey through the heart of Kyushu, featuring majestic volcanic landscapes, rich Onsen (natural hot spring) culture, and incredible local cuisine.
The Philosophy: “NO RACE = ALL FRIENDS”
The defining characteristic of Tour De Friends is simple: it is not a race. There are no timing chips, no leaderboards, and no podiums.
Instead of fighting for position, riders are encouraged to:
- Connect with fellow cyclists from around the globe.

- Stop and soak in the breathtaking scenery.

- Immerse themselves in the local culture.

Under the philosophy of “Friends, not Finish lines,” this event aims to create a “rolling community” where participants spend a week together, forging lifelong friendships.
From Fukuoka to Kagoshima: 4 Stages Across Kyushu
The route is a spectacular one-way traverse from Fukuoka City in the north to Kagoshima City at the southern tip of Kyushu. Spanning approximately 500km with a total elevation gain of 8,000m (significant Hillclimbs or mountain ascents), it offers a rewarding challenge for any cyclist.
